Joanna Chambers

Jo is a classically trained violinist who has performed with many ensembles and Orchestras in the U.K and abroad, including the English Symphony Orchestra and Welsh Chamber Orchestra.
Jo is also lead violinist in the Wigornia String Quartet.

Jo has always had a love and affinity with Jazz and Popular Music. This has led her to branch out into performing this genre of music on Electric Violin with backing tracks, for which she
has a huge repertoire of music from Bach to Blur, and lots in-between!

For her work on electric violin, Jo uses the best amplification on the Market today by AER.
This ensures that the sound quality is of the highest standard. This amplification can be used in an intimate setting, or can easily provide enough volume to fill a hall full of people.

Jo plays on a five string "spirit blue" Violectra Electric Violin.
These instruments are handmade in Birmingham by the renowned maker David Bruce Johnson, who has made the same instruments for Nigel Kennedy and "Escala". The instruments use state of the art pick up technology which means that the tone of the instrument is of unparalleled quality and due to the five strings, has the extended range of the both violin and viola.

Jo uses only the highest quality custom made backing tracks and writes many of these herself, using a midi keyboard, Apple Mac and the music software programme Logic (the same software used for many film sound tracks and Pop Albums).

Recent Engagements have been fundraising events for the Madeleine McCann Foundation and Help for Heroes and functions at The Chameleon Birmingham, San Carlo Birmingham, The National Space Centre Leicester, The Waldorf Astoria, The Fennes Essex, Malvern Priory, Redhouse Barn Stoke Prior, The Butlers Birmingham, Tetbury Court Hotel, Tewkesbury Park Hotel and Quartet performance on Channel Four Televisions "Come Dine With Me" .
